Hi Fellow Guardians!

As we are fast approaching the end of 2025, we would like to take this opportunity to share the following announcements:

  1. Price Revision

Ever since Toy Guard has entered the local market scene in mid 2022, we had always strived to provide high quality & high value products for our customers. We had also maintained that the material cost is the biggest cost for our products and that the price for our Mainline Protectors are sort of an introductory price to promote & announce our brand to the world. After reviewing the buying demand/trend of our customers, we observed a skewed buying pattern that favours certain hot selling models as compared to others. This does not allow us the flexibility to average out the margins and makes it difficult for the business to remain sustainable. Together with other external factors coming into play such as the increased in tariffs and GST, the operating cost is only going higher & higher by the year.

In order to maintain costing consistency throughout the protector portfolio that is based on material amount and to ensure a more realistic business sustainability, we have revised the price of our protectors as follow:

  • Mainline Protector: New Recommended Retail Price $3
  • Short Card* Protector: New Recommended Retail Price $2
Currently Out Of Stock. Pending Re-mould
  • All other Protector Models: No change

These price revision will take effect from 1st Jan 2026 onwards. We understand that price changes are not popular but we do seek your understanding and your continued support so that we can continue to provide you with the same high quality & high value products.

2. New Product - Molecular Sieve Dessicant Packs

We have always advocate the use of Dessicant Packs to complement & enhance the protection level for our protectors. While the protectors itself helps to prevents damages such as Physical/UV light/Water splashes, it does not prevent the growth of mould/mildew due to moisture. This is where the Dessicant Packs will help to absorb the remaining moisture in the protector to ensure the card remains dry and prevents the growth of mould/mildew.

Since then, the usage of Dessicant Packs have steadily gained traction and starts to get more popular in the Diecast world. So much so that our customers are requesting to sell our Dessicant Packs individually for use with their other highly prized, high value collectibles.

Our Premium Dessicant Packs are made of the following:

Packing Material - Tyvek®

Why Tyvek® is Best for Premium Collectibles?

When dealing with expensive, high-value items like rare comics, cards, and premium toys, the packaging material is as important as the desiccant inside. Tyvek® is superior due to these critical factors:

  • Optimal Moisture Exchange: The primary function is to allow the desiccant to work effectively. Tyvek®'s microporous structure lets moisture vapor pass through rapidly to be absorbed, ensuring the protected environment reaches a safe, dry level quickly. Plastic bags trap moisture, making the desiccant useless, while paper gets saturated and loses integrity.
  • Superior Durability: Expensive collectibles require long-term storage and handling. Tyvek®'s incredible tear and puncture resistance ensures the desiccant sachet won't burst open, preventing the desiccant material from spilling onto and potentially damaging the valuable items. Paper bags are fragile and prone to failure.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Tyvek® is a non-linting material that won't shed fibers or dust onto sensitive surfaces of collectibles. This is crucial for maintaining the pristine condition of mint-condition items.
  • Long-Term Preservation: The combination of excellent moisture transfer and robust containment makes Tyvek® the professional standard for archival-quality storage solutions, offering peace of mind for collectors investing significant amounts of money into their hobby.

Absorbent Material - Molecular Sieve

Why Molecular Sieves is Best for Premium Collectibles?

For high-value collectibles, the quality of the drying environment is more important than the desiccant's maximum capacity under standard conditions. Here’s why molecular sieves are the superior choice:

  • Maximum Protection: Molecular sieves achieve a significantly lower humidity level, which is paramount for long-term preservation of valuable paper goods and plastics. The absolute dryness they provide prevents subtle moisture-related damage like yellowing, warping, and mold.
  • Performance Stability: Unlike silica gel, molecular sieves retain their high drying efficiency even at higher temperatures. This ensures consistent protection for your collectibles, even in environments with minor temperature fluctuations.
  • Faster, Deeper Drying: While silica gel has a higher maximum capacity under high humidity, molecular sieves have a faster adsorption rate and can pull moisture down to extremely low levels, which is the key for archival-quality storage.
  • Longevity in Sealed Displays: When used in high-end, sealed display cases, the ability of molecular sieves to aggressively capture even trace amounts of moisture provides unmatched, long-term stability for your investment
